TEXTILE DESIGN

Textile design deals with fibre and yarn processing required for making different types of cloths. It also deals with the manufacturing of different structural designs on cloth along with ornamentation of cloth. The course aims to prepare professional designer who can create new designs by using different types of weaves , freehand painting , embroidery ,batik,tye and dye, block printing ,screen printing etc.
This creativity can be achieved by freehand or computer aided design. The main feature of textile design is to give thorough knowledge of different types of woven and printed fabrics, traditional textiles and idea of world textiles.Also indepth knowledge about colors , principal of design and construction is given to students.
Textile design reflects the fashion trends and it develops the capability in students for fashion market.

COURSE CURRICULUM - TEXTILE DESIGN  SYLLABUS

LABORATORIES	DESCRIPTION
WEAVING LAB	Textile Design Department maintains a weaving lab that is equipped with tabletop sample looms, offering an effective integration of theoretical and practical inputs to students.The infrastructure provides a creative space for students to arrive at a wholistic approach to enquiry and exploration from an individual perspective in relation to materials, processes and methods within the domain of woven structures.
PRINTING LAB	Lab equipped with the all equipments that meets the curriculum requirement. Larger number of block, screen printing and exposing machine. Student makes article such as cushions, Table cover saries etc with block and screen printing technologies.
DYEING LAB	The lab provides a stimulating learning environment where the students test their theoretical knowledge by gaining practical insight and exposure.The infrastructure allows the students to understand, appreciate and learn different dyeing techniques. Lab has the advanced dyeing machines HTTP dyeing machine, Winch Dyeing machine and Jigger dyeing machine.
